Rolling Loud Turns Fandom Into a Film Launch

06.04.26

Over the past decade, Rolling Loud has become one of hip-hop’s defining cultural platforms, known for headline-making performances and a fandom that travels across cities and countries to be part of it.

Now, it’s making the jump to the big screen.

But before Rolling Loud: The Movie hits theaters nationwide this October, the festival gave fans an early look at the project in a way few entertainment properties could: by teaming up with Cinemark and Sprite to build a pop-up movie theater in the middle of Rolling Loud Orlando.

From Festival to Film

Filmed during Rolling Loud Miami’s 10th anniversary, Rolling Loud: The Movie follows a by-the-book dad (Owen Wilson) whose attempt to earn cool-parent points by sneaking his 13-year-old son into Rolling Loud quickly backfires after the two get separated in the crowd. His search to reconnect unfolds across the festival alongside a character played by Matt Rife, with appearances from Christine Ko, Travis Scott, Sexyy Red, Ty Dolla $ign, and Ski Mask The Slump God.

Throughout the festival weekend, fans could stop by the Loud Theater to catch the first teaser trailer of the film inside a moviegoing experience created with Cinemark and Sprite. Designed to recreate the feeling of going to the movies, the space featured a red carpet-style entrance, complimentary popcorn and Sprite, and a premium viewing area that offered a change of pace between sets.

The first screening included an introduction from director Jeremy Garelick and Rolling Loud Co-Founder & CEO Matt Zingler, followed by a fan Q&A that gave attendees a behind-the-scenes look at the film before anyone else.

A Different Way to Launch Entertainment

Fans don’t experience music and film as separate worlds. The same people showing up for Rolling Loud and their favorite artists want more ways to stay connected to the culture surrounding it long after the weekend ends.

At Rolling Loud Orlando, fans discovered the teaser while already immersed in the world that inspired it. For Cinemark and Sprite, the opportunity sat at the intersection of both, helping bring two entertainment experiences together in a way that felt natural to fans already invested in the culture surrounding it.
